I never liked raw celery, largely due to the strings! I do, however, enjoy the taste of celery in soups and things. This casserole Mom made is full of that softened celery flavor, combined with crunchy water chestnuts. It makes this a favorite, and very easy to make often.

Ingredients
- 4 cups celery, cut in 1" pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 10 ounces can of water chestnuts
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
How To Make far east celery, mom's

Step 1Boil celery in small amount of water 8 minutes. Drain and mix in water chestnuts. Add soup, mix well. Put into a casserole, top with bread crumbs and butter. Add almonds. Bake at 350 degrees 35 minutes.
