This has been in the family since I can remember it's the only one I make .We only use a fresh head of cabbage that we grate, it seems to taste so much better . TASTE GOOD ON A HOT DOG OR A HAM SANDWICH TOO!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups cabbage, grated
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1/2 cup green pepper,diced
  • 1 cup ripe tomato, diced
  • 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper

How To Make family cole slaw

  • Step 1
    In medium bowl combine cabbage ,carrot, onion ,green pepper and tomato.
  • Step 2
    In small bowl mix mayonnaise, sugar, cider vinegar, celery seed , salt and pepper
  • Step 3
    stir into vegetables until well blended
  • Step 4
    refrigerate at least a few hours or more ,it taste better made the night before
