  • 2 can(s)
    (1 lb. cans)french style green beans drained
  • 1
    medium sweet onion, thinly sliced; separate the rings
  • 8 slice
    bacon fried; save drippings
  • 1/2 c
    sliced almonds
  • 6 Tbsp
    each of sugar and red wine vinegar

How to Make Edna's Green Beans


  1. Stir sugar and vinegar into bacon drippings
    Meanwhile, layer in a 11x9 baking dish as follows:
    Beans, onion rings spread evenly, crumbled bacon and almonds
  2. Pour heated dressing over the beans. Marinate covered in the refrigerator overnight,
    Next day remove cover, Bake uncovered 350 oven for 45 minutes
