Be sure to make these the night before or early in the morning to give the beets time to chill and the flavors to blend. These will keep for up to a month in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • 1 (14.5 oz can sliced beets, drained reserving liquid
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 6 - whole cloves
  • 1/2 stick cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon mixed pickling spice, tied in cheese cloth

How To Make easy pickled beets

  • Step 1
    Combine sugar, vinegar, cloves, cinnamon stick, mixed picklingspice, and reserved juice in pan. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves; add beets and brings to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and chill thoroughly in refrigerator before serving.
