easy baked beans
My mom used to make her baked beans this way when we were kids. Even though this recipe calls for canned beans, by adding the other ingredients and cooking slowly for a little while, it tastes like you've been cooking all day. The picture is from the internet for illustration only.

Ingredients
- 1/2 pound thick sliced bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 cans (32 oz) baked beans or pork 'n beans
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- - tabasco sauce to taste (optional)
How To Make easy baked beans

Step 1In a large soup pot of dutch oven, add the bacon and cook over medium heat just until the fat begins to render, about 4 minutes.

Step 2Add baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, syrup and tabasco sauce to taste; cover and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Step 3Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hr. Stir occasionally to keep beans from sticking or scortching.
