Ingredients

4 Tbsp
unsalted butter
1/2
red onion, chopped
kosher salt and black pepper
2 clove
garlic, minced
2 tsp
red pepper flakes
1 1/2 c
heavy cream
1 c
shredded parmesan
1 tsp
ground nutmeg
1/2 c
sour cream
2 (10oz.) pkg
frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1/2 c
french's fried onions

How to Make Creamed Spinach

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 375*.
    Spray 8x8-inch baking dish.

    In large skillet, melt butter and add red onions and a pinch of salt and saute for 3 minutes. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and saute for another 2 minutes.
  • 2Add heavy cream, Parmesan, and the nutmeg. Cook up until right before the cream bubbles, remove from heat and add sour cream and the spinach. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 3Pour spinach mixture into baking dish, sprinkle with fried onions and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
