Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 1/2
    red onion, chopped
  • ·
    kosher salt and black pepper
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 c
    shredded parmesan
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2 (10oz.) pkg
    frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1/2 c
    french's fried onions

How to Make Creamed Spinach

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 375*.
    Spray 8x8-inch baking dish.

    In large skillet, melt butter and add red onions and a pinch of salt and saute for 3 minutes. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and saute for another 2 minutes.
  2. Add heavy cream, Parmesan, and the nutmeg. Cook up until right before the cream bubbles, remove from heat and add sour cream and the spinach. Salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Pour spinach mixture into baking dish, sprinkle with fried onions and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
