These perfectly cooked peas, and mushrooms are so delicious and great with ham or bacon sprinkled in for a real tasty side dish!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen peas, cooked
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • WHITE SAUCE:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • SAUTÉED MUSHROOMS:
  • 1 1/2 cups mushrooms, fresh button,diced
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

How To Make creamed peas with sautéed mushrooms

  • Step 1
    White sauce: Melt butter, stir in flour, add milk gradually and cook slowly until thickened. Add salt and pepper.

    Step 2
    Sautéed Mushrooms: Cut off all but 1/2 inch of mushroom stems. Wash mushrooms throughly, dice and sauté, in butter 10 to 15 minutes, Season with salt and pepper;stir in Worcestershire sauce.
  • Step 3
    Add mushrooms, parsley if desired and peas to the white sauce. Stir together and serve hot.
