- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 small yellow onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups milk, whole milk or 2%
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 4 cups corn kernels
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 2 teaspoons freshly chopped parsley
- - Kosher salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
How To Make creamed corn

Step 1Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onions; cook for 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with flour; continue cooking for 2 minutes, stirring continuously.

Step 2Whisk in the milk and cream in increments, alternating between the two. Stir continuously until smooth.

Step 3Stir in the corn, fresh thyme, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper to taste. Simmer the corn mixture for 4-5 minutes or until thickened. Add 2 tablespoons butter and stir to melt. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or thyme leaves.
