Ingredients

  • 3 c
    thinly sliced cabbage, red or green
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 dash(es)
    nutmeg
  • 1 c
    heavy whipping cream
  • 1 c
    bread crumbs, fresh

How to Make Creamed Cabbage

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a shallow baking dish - such as a pie pan - with non-stick baking spray.
  3. Spread the sliced cabbage around in the dish as evenly as possible.
  4. Scatter sugar, salt and nutmeg over the cabbage and pour in the cream.
  5. Top with bread crumbs in as even a layer as you can make it.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
