crazy baked beans
This is one of my favorite bbq and potluck recipes that I have used over the past 30+ years. It has a nice balance of flavors and always receives nice compliments. I hope that you enjoy it too.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup apple (1 medium apple), sliced
- 1/2 cup sweet onion, chopped
- 31 ounces pork and beans in tomato sauce
- 6 ounces smoked sausage links (little smokies), sliced thin
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
How To Make crazy baked beans

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2In a small saucepan, cook apple and onion in a small amount of boiling water for 5 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.

Step 3In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cooked apple and onion, beans, sausage, raisins, ketchup, mustard, cinnamon and cayenne pepper.

Step 4Pour bean mixture into a 1-1/2 Qt. casserole that has been sprayed or wiped with oil.

Step 5Bake in oven, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring once.
