This is a great twist on shredded Chinese cabbage because it's a hot side dish.

Ingredients

cabbage head
1 medium
onion chopped
1
oriental ramen mix
2 Tbsp
sugar
3 Tbsp
vinegar
3 dash(es)
tabasco sauce
1 Tbsp
soy sauce
3 Tbsp
olive oil
1 Tbsp
butter
pepper
celery salt
1 pinch
ginger powder
3 Tbsp
roasted sesame seeds
1/4 c
roasted almonds

How to Make Cowboy Cabbage

Step-by-Step

  • 1Sauce: mix sugar, vinegar, tabasco, soy sauce and olive oil with the seasoning packet from the ramen noodle soup package. Set aside.
  • 2Brown onions in butter, add 1/2 of the shredded cabbage, mix together and cook until tender. Add the oriental noodles, pepper, celery salt, ginger, rest of cabbage and sesame seed and almonds. Stir and heat through but do not over cook. Turn up heat on stove and add sauce and saute quickly as to try to keep the cabbage, noodles and almonds and sesame seeds somewhat crisp. Serve as a side dish, yummy!
