This is a great twist on shredded Chinese cabbage because it's a hot side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 - cabbage head
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 - oriental ramen mix
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 3 dashes tabasco sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • - pepper
  • - celery salt
  • 1 pinch ginger powder
  • 3 tablespoons roasted sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup roasted almonds

How To Make cowboy cabbage

  • Step 1
Sauce: mix sugar, vinegar, tabasco, soy sauce and olive oil with the seasoning packet from the ramen noodle soup package. Set aside.
  • Step 2
Brown onions in butter, add 1/2 of the shredded cabbage, mix together and cook until tender. Add the oriental noodles, pepper, celery salt, ginger, rest of cabbage and sesame seed and almonds. Stir and heat through but do not over cook. Turn up heat on stove and add sauce and saute quickly as to try to keep the cabbage, noodles and almonds and sesame seeds somewhat crisp. Serve as a side dish, yummy!
