country green beans

I got this recipe from an old friend who grew up in southern Indiana and was a wonderful southern cook. The only thing I added was garlic powder because I love garlic! So yummy!

Ingredients
- 2 - cans cut green beans
- 4 slices bacon, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 - can pinto beans with liquid
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 dash salt and pepper
How To Make country green beans

Step 1In a large sauce pan, place bacon pieces in and cook until very crisp. Keep all drippings and pieces in the pan.

Step 2Add green beans, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper, water, and pinto beans with liquid.

Step 3Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for at least 45 min, Adding water if needed to keep from burning, but you do want a nice simmering liquid at all times when cooking. Enjoy!
