Ingredients

  • 4 ounces slab bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 bunches collard greens, stems removed
  • 1 bunch mustard greens, stems removed
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • - salt and pepper, to taste
  • - hot sauce, to taste

How To Make collard and mustard greens

  • Step 1
    Cook the bacon in a large heavy skillet over medium heat.
  • Step 2
    Reduce the heat to low and add the onion.
  • Step 3
    Cook for 10 minutes until soft, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 4
    Add the greens and stock.
  • Step 5
    Cover and cook for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the greens are just tender.
  • Step 6
    Season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle with hot sauce if desired.
