  • 1/2 Tbsp
    roasted peanut or sesame oil
  • 1 clove
    garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb
    fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1/2 Tbsp
  • 2 tsp
    soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    toasted sesame seeds

How to Make Chinese Style Green Beans


  1. Just blanch green beans in boiling water. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in the garlic, and cook until just starting to soften and become aromatic.
  3. Add the green beans and stir-fry until they begin to soften. Stir sugar and soy sauce. Continue to cook for five more minutes.
  4. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve!
