Ingredients

  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1
    scant tsp grated onion
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    velveeta cheese, cut up
  • 2 lb
    carrots (about 3-1/2 cups)
  • 1 tsp
    celery seed
  • 1 c
    buttered bread crumbs

How to Make Cheezy Carrot Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Peel, dice and boil carrots until tender. Drain
  2. Add cornstarch, onion and salt to milk and bring to a boil, adding butter and stirring until thickened and smooth. Stir in cheese until melted.
  3. Alternate layers of carrots, celery seed and sauce in greased casserole dish.
  4. Top with bread crumbs and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
