Ingredients

  • 2 pounds broccolini or baby broccoli leaves trimmed
  • 2 cups water
  • - salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons each butter and flour
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese

How To Make cheesy broccolini

  • Step 1
    Bring water and salt to a boil. Add the broccolini and cook about 4 minutes drain and reserve one cup of broccolini water. Place the broccolini in a sprayed baking dish. Heat the broiler
  • Step 2
    Add the butter to pan and let it melt. Stir in the flour and make a roux. Add the reserved water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let thickened. Add the cheeses and cook until melted.
  • Step 3
    Pour the cheese over top the broccolini. Sprinkle with pepper and place under broiler until browned.
