I always make these for the holidays intead of creamed onions, and people just gobble it up, lol.

Ingredients For cheesy baked onions

  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 7 lg
    onions, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    each salt and pepper, i used white pepper
  • 1-1/4 c
    shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1-1/4 c
    shredded monterey jack cheese, divided
  • 4
    scallions, chopped

How To Make cheesy baked onions

    Heat oven to 350. Spray a 1-1/2-quart casserole dish w/ cooking spray. In lg skillet over med-high heat, melt butter. Add onions, saute until soft, about 10 ins.

    In bowl, combine flour, salt and pepper. Add 1 cup cheddar cheese and 1 cup monterey jack cheese, add scallions. Add onions.

    Pour into casserole dish. Sprinkle remaining cheeses over top. Bake until bubbly, about 30 mins.
