Ingredients
- 2 medium chayote, peeled and sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped fine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
How To Make chayote - nicaraguan style

Step 1Heat butter and olive oil over medium high heat. Add onion and garlic, saute until soft.

Step 2When onion is slightly brown, stir in chayote, salt, pepper, sugar and pepper flakes. Stir and cook for 5-10 minutes.

Step 3Add lime juice, stir and cook 5 minutes longer. Serve as a side with chicken.
