How to Make Charlie Jen's Sweet Sour tomatoes and peppers
- Cut each tomato into 8 equal wedges and Place in serving bowl. Chill thoroughly.
- Heat oil in heavy iron skillet til oil smokes. Add peppers and stir rapidly til covered with gray spots. Pour vinegar and sugar over peppers and continue cooking a few seconds til sugar dissolves and bubbles. Stir in cornstarch as soon as liquid thickens, pour over cold tomatoes and over cold tomatoes and serve at once. Serves 4 to 6
