Ingredients
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 small onion quartered
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup each butter and flour
- 1 head cauliflower broke into large florets
How To Make cauliflower with white sauce

Step 1Place half and half in a saucepan. Add the onion, peppercorns, bay leaves, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil over high heat. Remove from heat and let sit for at least 30 minutes. Strain the milk and discard the solids.

Step 2Add butter to a pan over med heat. Once butter melts add the flour and stir making a roux. Whisk in the strained half and half and whisk until thickened.

Step 3Cook the cauliflower in boiling salted water. Drain and serve with the sauce spooned on top.
