Everyone that eats these think they are delicious. I tell them if you like these, you should have ate the ones that my mama made! That is why I say that they are "almost" like my mama's.

Ingredients
- 6 - sweet potatoes, peeled
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 pinch salt
How To Make candied sweet potatoes

Step 1Slice the peeled sweet potatoes into rounds about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 2Add oil and butter to cast iron pot. Heat.

Step 3Add sweet potatoes. Sprinkle with salt. Then add sugar over the sweet potatoes. Stir.

Step 4Cover skillet. Reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for one hour or until the sauce is dark and the potatoes are candied. They should be tender, but a little hard around the edges.
