A great Amish-Style receipe,and SO yummy!

Ingredients

  • 1 - small head of cabbage
  • 1 cup onion,chopped
  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter meted and then divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh black pepper
  • 1 can 10 oz. can of cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 package hellman's mayonase
  • 1 cup shredded chedder cheese
  • 1 package butter crackers such as ritz,crushed (sleeve}

How To Make cabbage casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Step 2
    Put cabbage in a greased 9 inch baking dish
  • Step 3
    Place onion on top
  • Step 4
    pour melted butter on top,1/4 cup of this only.
  • Step 5
    Add pepper
  • Step 6
    In a mixing bowl,add the soup and mayo,mix very well.
  • Step 7
    Spread evenly over the cabbage mixture
  • Step 8
    In a mixing bowl,add remaining 1/2 cup of melted butter,cheese and crushed crackers.Sprinkle all over the top of casserole
  • Step 9
    Bake uncovered about 45 minutes.
