My favorite aunt used to make this for family potluck dinners. We would go to Grandma's almost every Sunday night and each family brought a couple of dishes. What great food!

Ingredients For butternut squash casserole

3 ccooked and mashed butternut squash

2 Tbspbutter

1 Tbspbrown sugar

1/4 tspsalt

6 cpeeled, chopped apples

1/4 csugar

1 1/2 ccrushed corn flakes

1/2 cchopped walnuts or pecans

1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

2 Tbspbutter
How To Make butternut squash casserole

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine first four ingredients, stirring well, and set aside.

2Melt 1 T of the butter in a large skillet; add apples and sugar. Cover and simmer 8-10 minutes or until tender. Drain off excess liquid. Stir apples into squash mixture. Spoon into lightly greased 2 quart casserole dish.

3Combing remaining ingredients, stirring well. Sprinkle over squash mixture. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.
