Ingredients
- 2 pounds brussel sprouts
- 1/2 pound maple bacon, diced
- 1/4 cup shallots, chopped
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup shaved sharp white cheddar cheese, optional
How To Make brussels sprouts with maple bacon and shallots

Step 1Blanch the Brussels sprouts in boiling water about 4 - 8 mins. Cool in ice water and drain well.

Step 2Cook bacon until browned, remove and dice when cooled.

Step 3Add shallots to pan and saute until opaque, stirring often.

Step 4Drain all but 1 to 2 Tbs. of bacon grease and return to heat.

Step 5Add Brussels sprouts, pepper and butter to pan and lightly saute

Step 6Place in serving bowl and top with cheese if desired.
