brussels sprouts with bacon
My family hated brussel sprouts until I started cooking them this way. This goes great on the Thanksgiving dinner table.

Ingredients
- 1 pound of bacon cut up, cooked until bits are crunchy, reserve bacon grease.
- 6-8 cups fresh brussel sprouts, cleaned and sliced in half
How To Make brussels sprouts with bacon
-
Step 1In a medium size pot, boil water, and blanch your brussel sprouts halves in batches and allow them to drain, they don't take long, about a minute or two for each batch. Give them a good shake to get as much water out as you can so when you put them in the pan it wont splatter too much.
-
Step 2Cut up your bacon into pieces and fry it until almost crisp, I like mine more on the tender side, remove the bacon and set aside.
-
Step 3While the grease is still hot, add your blanched brussel sprouts into the bacon grease and saute them until tender and you start to get some color on them. Add back your bacon pieces and combine.
