Brussels Sprouts are another cool weather vegetable that grows in my Southern garden. Just steamed with a little butter they are fine, but when you add "browned butter", wow!

Ingredients

  • 2 pints brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted
  • 1 tablespoon sherry, balsamic or red wine vinegar
  • - kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

How To Make brussels sprouts in brown butter

  • Step 1
    Trim the Brussels sprouts and cut an X into the base of each.
  • Step 2
    Steam the Brussels sprouts for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    Melt butter in a large skillet and cook until it turns nut-brown in color.
  • Step 4
    Just before serving reheat butter, add Brussels sprouts and toss until well coated and warmed. Add vinegar, season to taste and serve.
