brussel sprouts with streaky rashers

When I was in Ireland over Thanksgiving 2011, my friend made these for our "American Thanksgiving Feast".

Ingredients

  • 2 packages brussel sprouts, frozen
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 6 slices bacon diced (or streaky rashers)

How To Make brussel sprouts with streaky rashers

  • Step 1
    Boil the brussel sprouts in water until fork tender.
  • Step 2
    Meanwhile, saute the bacon (known as streaky rashers in Ireland) and onion in a skillet.
  • Step 3
    When brussel sprouts are tender, drain well and dump into the pan with the onions & bacon. Saute a bit and serve. This recipe is totally flexible. Add more or less of the ingredients to suite your tastes.
