  • 2 1/4 lb
    broccoli florets
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    all- purpose flour
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    stone-ground mustard
  • pinch
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    nutmeg, ground
  • pinch
    pepper
  • 4 oz
    gruyere, shredded

How to Make Broccoli Gratin

Step-by-Step

  1. Place broccoli in a steamer over boiling water. Steam for 10 minutes. Place broccoli in a lightly greased 13x9 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; whisk in flour until smooth. Cook 1 minute until and whisk constantly, until bubbly.
  3. Stir in mustard and next 3 inredients.
  4. Pour sauce over broccli; sprinkle with cheese. Broil until lightly browned. Serve immediately.
