Ingredients
- 1 pound - fresh broccoli
- 2 cups - fresh onions or leeks, chopped
- 1 cup - sharp or medium cheddar cheese
- 4 tbsp - butter
- 2 tbsp - flour
- 1/4 tsp - salt, dash of pepper
- 1 cup - milk
- 4 oz - cream cheese
- 2 tbsp - butter
- 1 cup - fresh breadcrumbs
- 2tbsp - parmesan cheese
How To Make broccoli and onion casserole

Step 1Cut broccoli into bite size pieces and cook in boiling water for about 3 minutes, drain Blanch onions,drain.

Step 2Sauce... melt butter over medium heat, add flour, salt,pepper and milk and whisk until smooth. Blend in cream cheese until melted and smooth.

Step 3Place broccoli into a 2 quart casserole dish. Place blanched onions on top of broccoli layer. Pour sauce over vegetables, spreading evenly. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over sauce. Melt about 2 tbsp of butter in small bowl and add about a cup of fresh breadcrumbs and 2 tbs parmesan cheese. Mix well and sprinkle over sauce. Bake at 350 F for about 35 minutes or until topping is brown and crispy.
