- 4 quarts sliced cucumbers
- 1 pint sliced onions
- 1/4 cup uniodized salt
- 5 cups sugar
- 3 cups vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
- 1 1/2 teaspoons celery seed
- 2 teaspoons mustard seed

Step 1Wash, but do not pare medium sized cucumbers. Slice thin and add onion and salt. Cover with ice cubes, stir occasionally. Let stand 3 hours. Drain. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over cucumber mixture. Heat JUST TO BOILING. Can and seal. Makes about 6 pints. The less boiling the crisper the pickles are. Extra juice can be saved and used in another batch.
