blooming onions
(1 RATING)
If you like onions this is a good easy recipe. This recipe calls for 6 onions but you can make as many as you want. This recipe is similar to ones at some steak houses. You can use your imagination to change the recipe by using different flavor salad dressings and seasonings but the Thousand Island gives it a more spicy flavor.

- 1 large bottle of thousand island salad dressing
- - sea salt
- - creole seasoning
- - aluminum foil wrap
How To Make blooming onions
-
Step 1Peel and wash onions. Make several slices from top of each onion several times but not cutting all the way through. You are making a flower bloom this way. Cut individual pieces of foil wrap large enough to wrap each onion and close up over the tops. Place each onion on a piece of foil wrap and snuggle up to the side of each onion. Pour about 4 tablespoons of salad dressing on the onion. Sprikle on creole seasoning, salt and pepper. Finish closing up the foil around the onions. Place in oven baking dish and bake at 375 degrees about 40 minutes or until tender. Onions can be cooked on the grill or in the oven.
