My husband always loves it when I make this and people always are asking me for the recipe. It's pretty easy and works great as a side dish.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup white onion, chopped
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 3/4 cups fresh green beans, chopped
- 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup butter crackers, crushed
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted

This makes enough to fill a 9x9 baking pan. Double the recipe and use a 9x13 pan if you're cooking for a crowd (or want seconds).

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 350F/175C. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 3Add and mix in the salt, sugar, onion, and sour cream.

Step 6Transfer the mixture to a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish.
