I learned how to make these greens when I was in Florida visiting a woman who accommodated us while a choir I sang with was on tour.

Ingredients

  • 6 bunches fresh turnip greens
  • 6 bunches fresh mustard greens
  • 3 medium smoked ham hocks
  • 1 package salt pork
  • 1 package smoked ham pieces
  • 1/2 cup bacon drippings (or to taste)
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make best turnip and mustard greens

  • Step 1
    Put all meat on to boil in a stock pot half filled with water.
  • Step 2
    Pick and wash (thoroughly) bunches of greens. Leaving a few stems for vitamin content.
  • Step 3
    When meat is cooked to folk tender add greens, salt and pepper to pot. Add bacon drippings and cook till greens are tender.
  • Step 4
    You gotta serve these with baked chicken, candied yams and cornbread! Hum-hum good!
