My ex and i worked this recipe out years ago. i don't make this now because my daughter and i are vegetarian. but i can tell you, these beans are awesome! even folks that don't like beans love these. lots of ingredients, but well worth the effort.

- 1 pound bacon, cut up about 1 inch pieces
- 3 - large onions chopped
- 1 - # 3 can beans (baked bean style, save sauce)
- 5 teaspoons hinze 57 sauce
- 5 teaspoons lea & perrins steak sauce
- 3/4 cup hickory barbeque sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- 1 to 11/2 pounds brown sugar
How To Make best picnic baked beans

Step 1cook bacon, and then the onions in the bacon fat.

Step 2combine with all other ingredients. if they are not juicy enough, add sauce from the can of beans.

Step 3cook low till hot. stir, the sugar tends to burn easily. you can adjust the sweetness of these beans by adding more or less sugar. the brand of bean you buy will determine how much sugar to add.
