best broccoli rice casserole

I saw this because it was an adopted recipe. I made it the other day and it was yummy! If you want you can use Cream of Chicken soup instead of Cream of Mushroom. My husband doesn't like mushrooms even if it's just tiny itty bitty bits!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup rice, instant
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 10 ounces broccoli, thawed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup american cheese, diced

How To Make best broccoli rice casserole

  • Step 1
    Bring water and salt to a boil.
  • Step 2
    Add rice; cover and remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Melt butter in skillet; saute\' onion and celery until tender.
  • Step 5
    In large mixing bowl, combine rice, celery and onion with remaining ingredients.
  • Step 6
    Pour into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
