Recipe comes from Mark's family recipes. Both sides of his polish family had recipes which he had to translate to be able to send to me. :)

Ingredients

  • 4 greens from whole beets
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or fatback
  • 1 small clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 - strips bacon, fried and crumbled

How To Make beet greens, mark

  • Step 1
    Cut the greens from the beets. Thouroughly wash the greens, then chop coarsely. Place them in a medium covered pot and steam them, using no additional water and steam them for about 5 minutes. Put butter or fatback in a heavy skillet, and bring to low heat, and sautee the garlic. Stir in the greens and cooks 1-2 more minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
