beer battered zucchini blossoms

Honestly, I need advice on this recipe -- any comments are welcome. I pulled this one from our local newspaper, leaving me with no original owner to ask. It was fabulous as I did it. But what do you suppose they mean as zucchini "blossom"? Thoughts?

- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 - egg
- 1 cup beer
- 1 teaspoon salt
- - zucchini
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
How To Make beer battered zucchini blossoms

Step 1Mix flour and baking powder. Add oil, egg, and beer. Beat until smooth. Add cut zucchini and blossom strips.

Step 2Fry in 3 - 4" of oil at 375* until golden brown. Drain on paper towel lined plate. Salt to taste. Serve with or without ranch dressing.
