cheesy broccoli & rice casserole
This is a recipe that my 2 sons have loved since they were small and I am proud to say they have started making it for their own families.

Ingredients
- 3 boxes frozen chopped broccoli
- 1 jar cheez whiz, 15 oz.
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup long grain rice, uncooked
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
How To Make cheesy broccoli & rice casserole

Step 1Prepare broccoli according to package directions. I bring the broccoli to a boil and then turn down the heat and simmer the broccoli about 10 more minutes.

Step 2Prepare rice according to package directions.

Step 3Combine soups and Cheez Whiz in a saucepan and heat on low heat, stirring frequently to prevent scorching.

Step 4Pour melted butter in the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish.

Step 5Drain the broccoli, but reserve about 1/2 cup of the juice.

Step 6Combine all in the baking dish and mix together thoroughly. I usually combine the broccoli, juice and rice first, and then mix in the soups/Cheez Whiz. Note: You will probably not need the entire saucepan of soup/Cheez Whiz mixture. Just eyeball it.

Step 7Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
