I love squash just about any way you fix it. This is a very easy recipe and oh so good.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups yellow squash, sliced
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cream or evaporated milk
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted (additional)

How To Make baked yellow squash

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x9 baking dish.
  • Step 2
    Combine squash, 6 Tablespoons melted butter, onion, cheese, milk and cream. Mix well. Pour into prepared dish. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    Break your bread in to small pieces in medium size bowl, melt the additional 6 tablespoons butter and toss with bread crumbs. Sprinkle the bread crumbs evenly over the squash mixture.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake an additional 10 minutes.
