I love squash just about any way you fix it. This is a very easy recipe and oh so good.

Ingredients

  • 3 c
    yellow squash, sliced
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 c
    cream or evaporated milk
  • 2 c
    bread crumbs
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter, melted (additional)

How to Make Baked Yellow Squash

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x9 baking dish.
  2. Combine squash, 6 Tablespoons melted butter, onion, cheese, milk and cream. Mix well. Pour into prepared dish. Set aside.
  3. Break your bread in to small pieces in medium size bowl, melt the additional 6 tablespoons butter and toss with bread crumbs. Sprinkle the bread crumbs evenly over the squash mixture.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake an additional 10 minutes.
