Absolutely delicious, and very handy if you want to use up a bag of onions!

Ingredients

  • 6 large onions
  • 1/4 cup light margarine
  • 1/2 cup lowfat sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar, light
  • - paprika
  • - parsley, for garnish, if desired

How To Make baked onions

  • Step 1
    Rinse unpeeled onions; cut off the hard root and the dry top. Place in a foil-covered pan and bake at 375 F. for 1-1/2 hours.
  • Step 2
    Remove from oven and slide off skins. Place in oven-proof dish.
  • Step 3
    Combine margarine, sour cream, lemon juice and brown sugar; mix well. Spread sour cream mixture over onions. Sprinkle with paprika and return to oven briefly to heat sauce.
  • Step 4
    Sprinkle with parsley to garnish before serving.
