How to Make Baked Cabbage
- Preheat oven 375.
In a large pot over medium heat; add cabbage and salt, with enough water to cover the cabbage. Bring to a boil and cook cabbage until tender; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan over low heat; add butter to melt. Stir in flour. Add milk slowly stir and bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Set aside.
- Grease 2 quart casserole dish. Layer cabbage and shredded cheese alternating layers ending up with cabbage on top. Carefully pour the milk sauce over the cabbage.
- Cut the bread into bite size pieces and place them on top of the cabbage.
- Place the casserole dish on a baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake 20-25 minutes or until hot.
