In the fall there were always apples in the orchard and squash in the garden. This dish was a natural. And very good! Sometimes Grandma made this without the apples, just brown sugar squash. That is delicious, too.

Ingredients
- 3 - acorn squash
- 2 - apples, peeled, cored, and chopped or sliced thin
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
How To Make brown sugar and apple filled acorn squash

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut squash in half lengthwise and scrape out seeds. Place cut side down in baking dish and bake for 25 minutes

Step 2Mix remaining ingredients. Turn squash cut side up, fill with apple mixture and continue baking for 20 minutes, or until squash is tender.
