This is one delicious way of preparing squash, you could use this method with Butternut squash as well...I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.

  • 1
    acorn squash
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • salt
    & pepper to taste

How to Make Succulent Roasted Acorn Squash

Step-by-Step

  1. Slice your squash evenly in half. Cut the bottom of reach half ( the skin ) so it will sit upright on your baking sheet.
  2. Remove the seeds.
  3. Preheat oven to 450 degree F.

    Line a baking sheet with foil.

    Place the seeded squash on baking sheet. In the center of each squash halve, add 1 tablespoon of butter, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 1 tablespoon brown sugar.
  4. Place in oven and bake for at least 1 hour or until fork tender.

    During baking, occasionally baste the rim of squash.

    Serve with more butter, salt & pepper or even more brown sugar.

    Delicious!
