I have never been a squash lover but this is an amazing dish. I make this all year round and its absolutely delicious. It's always gone around the holidays as well. The chestnuts give it an unexpected crunch texture that only adds to the dish.

Ingredients
- 7 - medium mashed yellow squash
- 2 - medium chopped onions
- 1 can finely diced water chestnuts
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 - 8 oz container of sour cream
- 2- 6 oz - red box of chicken flavored stove top stuffing
- 1 1/2 - butter
How To Make squash casserole

Step 1Slice squash & onions, boil until tender. Drain & mash. Add chopped up chestnuts. Mix in soup, sour cream and add about 2 teaspoons of salt. Mix very well.

Step 2Prepare your stove top stuffing according to the box preparations. Melt butter and pour in the bottom of your cooking dish. Put a layer of the stuffing in the bottom of your cooking dish.

Step 3Fill squash mixture in on top of the layer of stuffing. Put another layer of stuffing on top. Bake for one hour @ 350 degrees or until the top is golden brown.
