Ingredients

2 pkg
frozen chopped spinach, the boxes
3 Tbsp
butter
2 Tbsp
flour
2 Tbsp
chopped yellow onion
1/2 c
evaporated milk
1/2 c
vegatable liquor
1/2 tsp
black pepper
3/4 tsp
celery salt
3/4 tsp
garlic powder
1-6oz pkg
jalapeno cheese (used to use kraft, it was discontinued, so get any brand you can find, it is soft like velveta
1 tsp
worchestershire sauce
red pepper to taste

How to Make Spinach Madeline

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook spinach as per package, drain, reserving 1/2 cup of liquid. Melt butter over low heat, add flour stirring until blended, do not brown. Add reserved spinach liquid and evaporated milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • 2Add seasonings, cheese (that has been cut up into small pieces, worchestershire sauce. Stir until cheese is melted and all is blended well. Add spinach. Taste and season to taste with red pepper.
  • 3Keep warm in a chafing dish and eat as a hot dip or butter some bread crumbs, sprinkle on top and bake as a casserole. Bake at 350 until bubbly.
