Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced or slivered
  • 4 slices bacon cut into small pieces
  • 2 cans pork and beans
  • 1 tablespoon dark molasses or brer rabbit syrup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon morton's nature's seasonings
  • 1 pound link german sausage (optional)
  • 2 dashes tobasco sauce (if you are feeling frisky)

How To Make spank yo' momma pork and beans

  • Step 1
    saute onion and bacon pieces in olive oil until tender Add both cans of pork and beans
  • Step 2
    bring to a simmer and then add molasses/syrup, mustard, ketchup, chili powder, nature's seasonings
  • Step 3
    simmer for 5 minutes to let all the flavors mingle and mix
  • Step 4
    If you want a little more substantial dish, add the german sausage cut into 1/2 inch links and the optional tobasco sauce
