Ingredients
- 2 pounds green beans, fresh
- 1 cup green onion
- 4 slices bacon
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces whipped cream cheese
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
- 1 can french fried onions
- 1 can tomatoes and chiles
How To Make redneck green beans
-
Step 1Steam, boil, or oven-roast green beans mixed with tomatoes/green chiles until tender. Drain off excess liquid if necessary and set aside. In a separate pan, sautee finely-chopped onions, garlic cloves, and sliced bacon in olive oil (butter may be substituted for oil) until tender. Stir onions and bacon into cooked green beans then add seasoning, cream cheese, and sour cream. Stir until everything is well-blended then adjust seasoning according to taste. Some of us are a little more redneck than others ;-)
-
Step 2Pour mixture into baking dish, top with fried onions, cover with foil, and bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
