mom's peas with onions and bacon

This is one of my daughter's, Stephanie, favorite way to have peas. I will often use green beans in place of the peas as well. They are equally delicious (just not so nutritious!).

Ingredients For mom's peas with onions and bacon

  • 8 slice
    bacon, diced
  • 1 sm
    yellow onion, minced
  • 3 c
    frozen peas
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make mom's peas with onions and bacon

    In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, brown diced bacon, about 3 to 6 minutes. Add onion to the pan, and sauté another 3 minutes or so, until onions are just tender.

    Add peas and reduce heat to medium. Season with salt and pepper and cook peas, 5 minutes or until heated through.

    Transfer to a shallow bowl and serve. You can also use steamed fresh or frozen snap peas. Makes 4 servings.
