Ingredients

  • 2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 c
    melted butter
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 1 c
    self rising flour
  • 1 c
    cornmeal
  • 3 large
    onions
  • 1 1/2 c
    oil for frying
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar

How to Make Garlicy, Buttery, Cornbread Onion Rings

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix your cornmeal, egg, flour, butter, garlic,and sugar in a medium bowl mix well.
  2. cut your onion in half inch slices. place onion
    s in bowl with the mix. mix well till onions are coated.
  3. place 1 cup oil in a medium skillet.preheat oil in skillet till hot. place two handfuls coated onion rings in skillet and fry till onion ring are a golden brown repeat in batches till all onion rings are cooked. cool slightly serve.
