How to Make Fried Okra
- Slice fresh okra into 1/2 thick slices discarding the ends. If using frozen sliced okra, thaw the okra.
- Mix flour, corn meal and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Dip okra slices in the milk.
- Dredge okra in flour mixture to coat.
- Heat oil in a large skillet. Place coated okra carefully in the oil.
- Cook stirring frequently but gently until it is golden brown. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
