Ingredients
- 1 pound okra, fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup corn meal
- 1/2 cup milk
- - pepper to taste
How To Make fried okra

Step 1Slice fresh okra into 1/2 thick slices discarding the ends. If using frozen sliced okra, thaw the okra.

Step 2Mix flour, corn meal and pepper in a shallow dish.

Step 3Dip okra slices in the milk.

Step 4Dredge okra in flour mixture to coat.

Step 5Heat oil in a large skillet. Place coated okra carefully in the oil.

Step 6Cook stirring frequently but gently until it is golden brown. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
